My most beautiful moment | Red agate, natural quartz(7.3ct), natural quartz(bead), hematite(bead), sterling silver 6.8x35.8x1.8cm 2021

The artist studied and experimented with the underlying doubt on the standardized gemstone form and the potential of rough stones as a formative art in new perspectives.

This artwork shows two gemstones, each executed with Marquise cut and Oblique cut* are characterized in ambivalent features like front and oblique, transparent and opaque, polished, and matt(non-polished). This contrast causes a change in depth of shade depending on the viewpoint, which visualizes a new spatial impression.

As yeonliji becomes the main point of a giant forest with a ponderous impression, I wish this piece shares ‘the most beautiful moment in life.

*In some cases of Designer Cut that appreciates a new type of art, the person who first attempted it gives a name. I have been using the title Oblique Cut since 2011.
