Kwanghun Hyun, Cal.33 Skeleton II | brass, stainless steel, leather strap 4.2x1x24cm 2021
The watches I make are made with a combination of small and complex parts and wheels, and the outside is covered with the watch dial and case. Its appearance is no different from any other watch. But I don’t look at my watch from the outside. Instead, pay attention to the passage of time between the teeth repeated countless times inside the watch. The world in the watch, driven by absolute order and rules, is close to perfection. In it, I watch the wheel of the second-hand spin one turn and push the minute hand out to make one minute, and I also watch the time stopped in the gap between the wheel teeth and teeth. My watch projects the perfect world of my dreams, created solely by me.
