Soojin Choi, Cloud Plate | paper clay, frit, pigment 30x30cm 2021

I create clay by mixing minerals and soil. It functions as a ‘paint with potential for three-dimensional structure’ and reproduces the icons of objects lightly overlooked in various media. The baked material can be artwork or objects by borrowing the status of various original works such as relics, products, still-objects, artworks, etc. As I reproduce the way objects exist, I remind that the material world constituting our surroundings is a unique world that exists objectively.
